- Valid CA physician's license
- Practice devoted to orthopedic surgery or other surgical specialities, emergency room medicine or family practice with substantial emergency room experience
- Excellent skier; to be tested by the standards of the National Ski Patrol

Basic Requirements:
- Fourteen days per season patrolling
- Active status as Doctor Patroller meeting all current skills, training, registration, minimum patrol days, acceptance by patrol leadership, and adherence to Doctors' Patrol guidelines, rules and regulations.
- Personality compatible with other physicians, RN's in First Aid room and Alpine Meadows staff and Patrollers
- Attendance of yearly Fall first aid refresher week-end
